Minneriya National Park is situated in the north-central plains of Sri Lanka, 20 kilometers from Polonnaruwa. The park encompasses the beautiful Minneriya tank, built by King Mahasena (in 3rd century AD). This tank is an incredible place to observe the elephants that come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds (cormorants, painted storks, open-bills, Pelicans and many other species of waders) that come to fish in the shallow waters. At Matale you will visit a spice garden where you will see many different types of spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. Just 25 km from the hill capital of Kandy, the Matale spice gardens are among the best on the island. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. A processing and training unit has been set up in the area and farmers are grouped in a cooperative to ensure fair prices and you will also be able to purchase spices.

Kandy is a city in the center of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which has an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. It is both an administrative and religious center. It is the capital of the Central Province (which encompasses the districts of Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya) and also of Kandy District. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) one of the most revered places of worship for the Buddhist community of Sri Lanka and Buddhists all around the world. Kandy Botanical Garden
The Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is located in close proximity to the city of Kandy. It is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 300 varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palms trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres, and lies 460 meters above sea level. It receives 200 days rain fall annually. The gardens are managed by the Division of National Botanical Gardens of the Department of Agriculture.

After a tour of the botanical Gardens you will visit the Gem Museum in Kandy. The Sri Lankan gem industry has a very long and colorful history. Sri Lanka was affectionately known as Ratna-Dweepa which means Island of Gems. The name is a reflection of its natural wealth. Yala National Park
Yala National Park is the most visited and the second largest national park in Sri Lanka. It consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public The Park covers 979 square kilometers (378 sq. mi) and is located about 300 kilometers (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, along with Wilpattu. They were two of the first national parks in Sri Lanka, The Park is best known for its variety of wild animals and is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan Elephants and aquatic birds. There are six national parks and three wildlife sanctuaries in the vicinity of Yala. The park is situated in the dry semi-arid climatic region and rain is received mainly during the northeast monsoon. Yala hosts a variety of ecosystems ranging from moist monsoon forests to freshwater and marine wetlands. It is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Sri Lanka. Yala is home to 215 species of birds including six endemic species of Sri Lanka. Galle
Galle is a city situated 119 km from Colombo on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka,. Galle is the capital city of Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It was already an important sea port in the 14th century and was referred to as Qali by Arab traders who frequented the port long before the arrival of the Portuguese in the 16th century, when it became the main port on the island. Galle reached the height of its development in the 18th century, during the Dutch colonial period. The Galle fort we see today was first built by the Portuguese and improved by the Dutch and the British. It still has its old world charm with its cobbled roads and quaint Dutch buildings. Then after transfer to the Colomo Airport.
